This is a scene that I caught while visiting our house near Orgiva in Southern Spain. On a sunny day in May 2009 I was driving up the hill to the house and noticed the poppies blooming in an olive grove just beside the road. I parked my car, grabbed my camera and went exploring in the grove. I knew that I just had to paint this, so I took a series of shots, one of which provided the basis for this painting. |
