No. 124 - Reflections; 18" x 24"; acrylic on canvas

In this still life I wanted to create a painting that was colourful and provided a mixture of both floral and interesting objects on the theme of “reflections”. I experimented with dozens of different arrangements, all placed on a large mirror and with a black background.

After many attempts and hundreds of photographs, I eventually settled on this layout. What I found exciting about it was the reflections, not only in the mirror but between the objects in the painting. As you can see, it was created in May, when the peony in the back garden was in full flower.
